Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness
Enable aspiring entrepreneurs in the agri-business sector to develop a business model and plan to get their agri-venture off the ground.
Through the participation in the Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness programmes we identified that there is a shortage of locally grown mushrooms to satisfy local and export markets. We will launch a business growing high quality mushrooms to address this need.

About this programme
The Agripreneurship Alliance launched as a Swiss-based non-profit Association, based in Montreux, in August 2017 and has partnered with AMI to develop web-based tools, resources and courses that can be used in training institutions and universities across sub-Saharan Africa. A core focus of the alliance is to develop a cloud-based agripreneurship programme that will take the budding agripreneur through the business start-up process and develop a suite of business start-up guides to help inspire and guide young agripreneurs.
Designed for aspiring entrepreneurs in the agri-business sector, this hands-on programme provides the key steps for getting a business off the ground. Participants will learn how to understand market demand, develop prototype products or services, develop a business model, and raise funding.
This programme is offered through universities, accelerators, incubators, colleges, and enterprise development organisations that want to support entrepreneurs in their network. Get in touch to talk about running ‘Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness’ with aspiring entrepreneurs you support.

Entrepreneurship training is broken. Now what?
Entrepreneurship is often touted as the silver bullet for Africa’s youth employment challenge. If we can strengthen small businesses, they will create jobs, and more young people will find dignified work. Simple, right? The problem is that most entrepreneurship training is failing.
