Our programmes combine online and mobile tools with in-person workshops and on-the-job practice and support.

We are now looking for an experienced hire as our Agriculture Practice Lead, to join a team that secures and manages our most critical relationships. This person will be responsible for launching AMI’s Agriculture Practice – a strategic area of growth for AMI, with exciting possibilities for social and commercial impact. This is a chance for an outstanding entrepreneurial leader to be part of Africa’s transformation, and to help shape, build and scale one of its most innovative social businesses.

The Agriculture Practice Lead must be a strategic leader who is passionate about skills and enterprise development as a way to transform Africa, with extensive networks in, and understanding of, business development services for agriculture businesses in Africa.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Partnerships as part of a senior team working closely with the CEO to secure new strategic partnerships that expand our work with SMEs, entrepreneurs, and youth across Africa. S/he will take responsibility for managing existing projects in agriculture, including a strategic multi-year and multi million dollar project, as well as cultivating new strategic relationships in this sector, leading to expansion of AMI’s work to serve agribusinesses and agriculture sector leaders across Africa. AMI is already working with some of the leading funders and stakeholders in the skills and enterprise space, such as The MasterCard Foundation, Argidius Foundation, Aceli Africa, the Agripreneurship Alliance, USAID’s Policy Link initiative, as well as other leading foundations and DFIs, and is looking for a manager to identify new opportunities for AMI to grow and increase our impact.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic international team and will be based in – or willing to move to Nairobi. For exceptional candidates, other African locations may be considered.
