Content and Learning Designer

We equip entrepreneurs with tools to build their business, help companies train their teams and run work readiness programmes for young people. Our programmes combine online and mobile tools with in-person workshops and on-the-job practice and support. We’ve directly trained over 27,000 people in 15 countries through more than 80 programmes across Africa through clients and partners like the MasterCard Foundation, KLM, Unga, Shell Foundation and more. We have offices in Nairobi, Kigali, and Johannesburg.

AMI is expanding rapidly. We are looking for an ambitious and talented Content and Learning Designer to work in our Learning department and lead the development of our world-class online learning content and support the design of learning programmes. The Content and Learning Designer will work under the Head of Learning and be responsible for the overall content development processes and strategies related to AMI’s online learning solutions. In coordination with the Head of Learning (HOL)/Chief Product Officer (CPO), the Content and Learning Designer will play three critical roles at AMI:

  • Work with clients, stakeholders and subject matter experts across Africa to develop AMI’s online content library: including the development of online video-based courses, tools and case studies.
  • Work with the Head of Learning/CPO to lead the Innovation of AMI’s content roadmap: including analysis and planning for ‘mobile-first’ content, micro-learning and ‘course in a box’ customization of content.
  • Support the content and product team to efficiently manage content-related projects, plans effectively, and grow to future Content Leaders.

In addition to these core content innovation and development roles, the Content and Learning Designer will also have a role in supporting course engagement and the AMI team training by ensuring awareness of developments in product related to content and courses and support marketing of these resources (information).

We are looking for someone who is experienced in content development and design – a minimum of 3 years’ experience, with good people management skills – and, most importantly, passionate about learning!
