Learning Experience Designer

We equip entrepreneurs with tools to build their business, help companies train their teams, and run work readiness programmes for young people. Our programmes combine online and mobile tools with in-person workshops and on-the-job practice and support. We’ve directly trained over 27,000 people in 15 countries through more than 80 programmes across Africa through clients and partners like the MasterCard Foundation, KLM, Unga, Shell Foundation, and more. We have offices in Nairobi, Kigali, and Johannesburg.
AMI is expanding rapidly. We are looking for an ambitious and talented Learning Experience Designer to support in the conceptualization, implementation and monitoring of cutting-edge blended learning journeys.
The Learning Experience Designer will report to the Head of Learning and will work across the Learning Team. You will be a key player in a dynamic, international team focused obsessively on results. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in entrepreneurship and workplace learning, and/or EdTech.
The Learning Experience Designer must be obsessed with learning programmes that drive impact for businesses, cross-geographical boundaries, and scale infinitely. Driven, organized, tech-savvy you are prepared to drive effective engagement, monitor programme outcomes and build world-class learning journeys.
The successful candidate will play several key roles at AMI:
- Lead role in designing user experience across existing and new programmes including engagement strategies and communication. This includes working with the Head of Learning on programme scoping and design and overseeing programme delivery in East Africa to ensure participants get high impact experience every single time.
- Support in Kenya to Sales/Business Development to support user requirements/needs analysis and proposal design. This includes supporting business development teams in East Africa to understand client needs and propose programmes that suit needs.
- Monitor core programmes through Project Team Meetings including analysis of data dashboards, leading / problem-solving challenges and escalating issues/successes for review by the learning team/cloud. S/he will ensure programmes have an impact and are valued by clients: Evaluate core learning outcomes and metrics within learning programmes and adapt design and delivery to resolve issues in real-time.
- Support learning experience strategies and processes across programmes and provide strategic input to product development – including design, content, technology and engagement/communications across programmes.
