Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is here and we are excited to be hosting candid conversations with women entrepreneurs and business owners across Africa. 

Join these live conversations as we talk about the role of women in growing Africa’s economy with guest speakers renowned Nigerian business owner, Mimi Ade-Odiachi, the Managing Director of Omar Gardens. Mimi is an avid Landscaper and has been in business for over 30 years! Believe it or not, she was the very first designer at Omar Gardens and is described by her team as an absolute joy to work with and a true visionary. During her free time, she enjoys gardening and often finds herself mentoring or coaching young people about entrepreneurship. On this same special day, we will also be hosting two other live conversations earlier in the day with guest entrepreneur Angela Obwaka who is the Co-Founder, Career Coach, and HR Lead at Naamka Consultancy. They offer individual and corporate HR solutions including CV revamps, Career Coaching, Teambuilding, Strategy Development, Organizational Audits & Needs Analysis, Succession Planning, Change Management, HR Administration among others. She is passionate about empowering people in their gifting and aligning them to spaces that allow them to flourish. With a background in academia, she taught Management, HR, and International Business-related units at a private university in South Africa and conducted research in the same area. She is continually determined to create spaces in which people feel supported and valued in the workplace. She runs a weekly segment on her Instagram page called HR Tuesdays and has a YouTube Channel where she advises, answers HR queries, and shares opportunities and information with her followers who vary in age, career development stages, and geographical location. Finally, to usher in the day and kickstart the conversations we will be hosting Susan Mueni the Founder and CEO of SUED Watches, a Kenyan watch brand that specialises in making statement timepieces with an African touch! Susan went into business at a young age back in campus when one of her friends convinced her to sell him her precious watch. She has been in business for more than 4 years now and believes that African time is precious which fuels her passion for selling watches. Back in 2017 Susan participated in a popular Kenyan business competition for the youth, BLAZE BYOB (Be Your Own Boss), and was voted as the best contestant. She walked away with KES 500,000/- and was also awarded KES 160,000 in cash and business support from BLAZE which has helped her over the past few years to grow her business. Susan is passionate about small businesses and personal development and will be sharing her business journey story with the hope of inspiring young African women to keep defying the odds and join the business world.
